Anchor Chain length

Not a wonderful analogy. They didn't use anchors or have a bit of chain to stop chaffing when they hung peeps. Also chain - not available/ too expensive/ couldn't tie hangmans noose in chain?

on a serious point, you looked at those german anchors. They 'look' like they should do the job. Sometimes visual clues are good, as form follows function.

nice and clean looking.
the sarca seems to be based on very similar overall layout but with the advantage of being able to pull it out backwards.

Impressive isn't it. Roll over bar makes sure that evil point always ends up in contact with sea bed, and sharp enough and weighted right so it can pierce weed etc

Think I'm going to get one. THough might be a bugger to pull up if in Alum or Osbourne Bays

Though the spade is conceptually a good idea, it doesn't look as 'right' as this does. and as I said earier, form follows function.

It won't do the link properly for me. Put % 20 between WASI and Index with no spaces.

I've settled for 50m on the basis that we will be doing the Channel islands and I prefer to be safer rather than sorrier? This will reduce the weight of chain to acceptable levels (I would think the weight is covered somewhere in what follows) and give me a safety margin.

Put the percentage sign and the figure twenty between Wasi and Index with no spaces and you should get the link.

Certainly some similarities. Wonder how they measure cost wise. Wasi is reputed to be expensive, but havn't seen any prices.

I have full UK prices for SARCA if you are interested.....say 400 for your boat in stainless if you want the security to ride out those storms! (more like 120 galvanised)
