I fail to understand their logic of attaching a line to the bow that is beached, I assumed there was very minimal tidal range, only later is it made clear high tide is at 02:00.

Oh them Americans do some funny things 🙈

i wonder why they weren’t able to drop the anchor when the engines stopped.

My instant reaction whenever anything happens propulsion wise is to drop the anchor, and then assess the situation.

Just what I was thinking.
Surely a bridle over the two stern cleats would have given a more direct pull, rather than trying to ever the hull sideways through the sand? I get that the props may have dug in, especially as the tide fell, but the logic being applied escapes me.

Oh, and those lads could learn about, and invest in, some heaving lines....

Swimming ashore with a line……it’s only a boat! Why risk life and limb to recover when no one was in danger.

They need to coordinate land and sea....a digger on the beach to remove sand on the portside....as long as it’s not a protected environment (turtles or something)

Does it have to be done while there are 30mph winds?

That diver has some stamina
It’s very competitive in the salvage business....if you take your time another company will jump in and claim potentially millions

They could not do it otherwise, as when you are pulling the stern and rudder dig deeper and you create a bigger problem.
