My 22 hour alternator burnt up.
New one is getting very hot. 150 degrees so I shut it down.
its a 70amp alt. Brand new drop in engine. 5.7 ltr. Chev.
It hadn't been run in maybe 6wks.
Checked connections, hot and ground. New battery as well, and selector switch after the alt. Burned up.
It looked good when I tore the switch up to see if it was good after replacing the switch. I'm afraid to run it if I disconnect all the wires to it. Lots of controversy about that I've found.
So now I wonder what to do.
