Alternator advice

I have a 1963 Seamaster Cadet Mk1 which I am restoring. I have removed the petrol engine and am fitting a 1.8 Ford XLD. I need advice as to which type of alternator to fit. ie. 12v 70A machine sensed, but the question is whether or not to fit insulated or earth return. any suggestions, would be welcome.

if it costs the same, buy an insulated return, but no point really if the starter isn't insulated too.

Can always use an insulated one as earth return with short cable, but not the other way.
