All of KTL now free

This one still gives me grief! Don't make me cry any more.

Re: An ode to Para

Ahem (clears throat)

'Todka'

As usual on this tub
It was 'turns' to cook the grub
Para said 'Nae sweat - I'll mak a pie'
So he rustled up a dish
Out of spuds and prawns - and fish
Which he'd caught whilst out....shopping nearby

When the radome left the mast
He said 'Skipper,' (rather fast)
'I'll don the bosun's chair and go on high'
Then shouted down, 'Some'ts wrong
It's not a chair, more like a thong
I can't see - I've got tears in me eye.'

So if you are on a cruise
Bent on sailing, pool or booze
And you're anchored (!) somewhere nice and warm and sandy
If your boat is grey - or green
And your mates are all has-been
You might do worse for crew than - Parahandy

I have yet to make and post the films from shetland and orkney. Katie L is currently near edinburgh, harmony is near Glasgow. So I am expecting to spend six weeks up the forth and tay and then go through the forth and clyde before heading back to the Minches.

D

Just stumbled across this and my winter viewing is now sorted - can't wait to get home to download and start watching :D

I'll keep an eye out on the Tay for you - you'll get a safe berth in Tayport if you need and there's a good pub and a chippy!

Very many thanks for making the KTL movies available, Dylan. I've always enjoyed watching them -- especially the East Coast ones, which always reminded me of my old sailing grounds on Western Port. Also, while it seems to be no longer available, I was flattered when you used my map of Arthur Ransome's 'Secret Water' to morph into Google's aerial photos in your coverage of the Walton Backwaters.

Now I'm looking forward to downloading and watching a good deal of KTL all over again.

Not had chance to be on here recently but one idea for selling your DVD's still..... How much would you charge for all your stuff on a memory stick??? Some are 2 lazy to download, and it would make a nice form of donation as well.... As copy righting and copying is no longer an issue you might be surprised how many are prepared to donate....

woudn't it need to be a large hard drive d packs a lot into the ktl films ;-)

there is a bloke in Denmarki who has everything on his hard drive - he says it is about 120 gigs if he wants to watch them on his big media enabled TV in HD

mo need to download anything now

it will all stream - for those with fat pipes

There is still much more stuff on YouTube though is'nt there Dylan?

Looks awfully like just another way to generate publicity

I think you may be reaching a much wider audience than first thought.

I recently found out that my living room TV has YouTube.

Apart from a nice big screen and excellent picture ( compared to the PC ), other members of my
family are seeing your films for the first time.

My wife said " he's quite opinionated isn't he ?", then looked at me and said "just like you" :)

Thanks mate - keep 'em coming .

Although there is heightened sensitivity on here at the moment about financial gain through forum usage Dylan did not resurrect this thread, he merely responded to a post.

And I think for most people financial gain, as long as it is clear, is not a big deal assuming the person contributes to the forum.

Dylan has always made entirely clear the enormous sums that he has gained through his business and from posting on here.

And I also suspect that the people who moan about financial interests have never had a job where they have had to generate any money. Public sector jobs with large final salary pensions.

I think they should declare their income sources and let those people involved in private enterprise who are the people who generate the taxes to pay for everything get on with their lives!

And there are a lot of people on the forums who link to their businesses in their signatures - nobody is suggesting that this is bad form. It could be a slippery slope which may impact on those who give advice whilst also having boaty type businesses.

Well I never, can Civil Servants really claim back all the taxes they paid over their working lives then? Sounds like a great idea, but somehow I think you are mistaken, all employees pay tax if they earn enough. The self-employed however have many more opportunities to reduce the tax take form their revenues. When I left paid employment my income increased, as did my spare time & my tax due was reduced.

Yes but there would be no money to pay the civil servants originally if there was no private enterprise. Where does the money come from originally? They may as well just reduce public sector wages and stop people from paying any tax. It doesn't really make any difference.

And by the way I am on the loony left compared to some on this forum. I am just getting wound up by the amount of people complaining about very small businesses talking about their business on these forums. They are just trying to make a bit of money which should be encouraged.
