Apparently the G is for longer range, less power, but easier to connect.

Its the G for me.......................

Tube U(G) uses the old Realtek 8187 chipset and claims 500mW max. output. It will only work with older "b/g" Wifi.

Tube U(V) is newer and claims 1000mW max. output (not that this makes it better than older model). However, it will work with "b/g/n" Wifi, so will connect with newer "n" only Access Points if that's important to the customer.

Highly likely that U(G) model will connect with "b/g" at longer range than the U(V) model. However, I don't have details of the chipset it uses.
