Portable jump start unit...£40.

Not been to the boat for many a week so will take mine with me!

With all due respect to the famous Aldi reputation for quality, the same money will get you a car battery... with a 3 yr guarantee!

I have been using one of those cheap Chinese yellow plastic jump starters (not Aldi but probably the same) for about ten years now, mainly for pumping up bike, trailer and car tyres or occasionally for starting motor bikes, it comes with us on the boat but so far has only been needed for starting the car when we get back after a few weeks. It still holds an effective charge for at least 4-6 months so there must be the odd rogue one out there which actually works and lasts.
Beating my head on some hardwood now!

The Aldi jump starter also has a three year guarantee.
It has built in jump leads and its own built in charger. If also has compressor which is useful for car and trailer tyres. Generally a more versatile bit of kit than a cheap car battery
