any digital tuner will receive freeview.

If you can't get freeview on your household digibox through a rooftop aerial, then the tuner for pc won't either - especially if you use a small internal aerial, as then reception will be even worse.

Shall have to look at this new Freesat then ,cos even terrestial tv looks like it's coming from another planet.

All freeview transmissions are on severely reduced power until the switch over to fully digital in your area.
This is for technical interference reasons.
