Just the usual, passports, insurance & registration. Although they were PM, they said it was a "Frontex" check.

I don't know, it was well dark by then and they were using a very quiet engine and running without lights so I don't know where they went after. I hadn't heard the term Frontex used by police before - https://frontex.europa.eu/

In the eastern Aegean there are Frontex patrol boats everywhere, looking out for illegal immigrants from Turkey. It seems to be a multi national force made up of Naval Boats from all over the EU.
