Albin Viggen

I have finally got my backside into gear in regards to buying a yacht and went and looked at a Viggen last night.

Being a complete novice, it was very much a case of looking rather than inspecting and so will be having to go back with someone who knows what they're doing, but in the meantime wondered if anyone out there has experience, opinions or views on the Viggen?

Any comments good, bad or otherwise will be gratefully received.

Hi The Viggenb is the little sister of teh Albin Vega 27. Comes in two forms. One with a long keel like a Vega and teh other with a fin keel. Both sail well. Very little headroom. Most have outboard engines but a few have a small inboard, usually a Vire 7. Built in Sweden, sloop rigged. Nice little yachts. Should cost anywhere between £4k - £8k. Thanks for this. I had a look at the website before looking at the boat yesterday and found the Viggen to almost be a mini version of the Vega. Website very good by the way!

You're right about the headroom, but other than that I really liked the boat and it seemed to have a "solid" look & feel to it.

Am very tempted!

I have sailed on a Vega back of the island in a six - felt very solid in quite steep seas.
