Alarm on E85001 SeaTalk/NMEA Interface Box?

My E85001 SeaTalk/NMEA Interface Box Owner’s Handbook says I can fit a "Raymarine Main Alarm (Cat No Z035)", but I can't find a supplier.

Does anyone have the specification of the alarm output, so I can find an appropriate device?

How about running the alarm to a relay, then you've no worries about overloading the RM box.

If I knew what the output specification was, I could!

I was thinking of a piezoelectric buzzer (even lower current than a relay), but should it be 1V, 5V, 6V, 9V, 12V ...

chances are it's a 12v alarm output, stick a voltmeter on it.
the buzzers are cheap . . . fit and try

It is a pulsing 12V. About 1x per second. Fitting a piezo would be ideal. There are plenty which will wake you yet draw less than 100mA which should be quite safe. As far as I recall there is no internal relay, so anything which requires more current should go through an external relay.
