AIS Transponder + VHF choice.

vesper watchmate

I went through this same decision not too long ago, and was going to go Simrad as my nav system and pilot are theres, but wound up putting the Vesper 850 on my 109. It's a great display, super easy to use, and it seems to have the most intelligent selection of alarms, crossing warnings and lack of screen clutter that I, or those who recommended it to me here in another thread, have seen. A few things I have come to enjoy in the short time I have used it are the ways it filters out boats that I don't need to worry about, the fact that it can easily be toggled between transmit and silent mode, and that it draws very little power. It also has a cool anchor watch feature. Lastly, for what it's worth, installing it was a breeze cause the transmitter and GPS are built it.

Hope this helps!
