Guys,

I have Maptech Chart Navigator Pro, and I am looking for an AIS system, either receiver or class B transponder.

Anyone out there with any recomendations?

TIA and Merry Christmas

I'm running the NASA AIS Engine with Chart Navigator Pro...all works very well.
You will need to set CNP to RX the AIS data at 4800 baud not 38.4k as it says in the NASA instructions.

Steve.

The nasa AIS engine works as well as any and it's inexpensive. It receives class B but it isnt a transponder though. Articles I have read in the yachting press are generally sceptical on class B sets. See IBI feb/march 2005.

Another vote for the NASA - but I run mine side by side with the navigation software using www.shipplotter.com software which provides audible warning of problem vessels and cpa information. I share gps info between the two pieces of software using Franson's GPSGAte
