Just a quick update, as this may help others. Easyjet allow suitcase generators as hold luggage, provided they are dry. I'm waiting for an email, and will attach it for other to refer to.

Thank you for contacting us,
As per over telephonic conversation I confirm you that you can carry suitcase generator as your Hold baggage. Please note that the suitcase generator must be within 275cm (length+width+height).
Another consideration before loading yourself up with piles of luggage. Two years ago I got violently mugged whilst passing through the passenger gate into Pireaus harbour. This happened around noon and in front of literally hundreds of witnesses in the queues for tickets. The gang picked me out because I am obviously Northern European (and therefore rich) and was trying to manage a large wheeled case, a large laptop bag and several 4x4 sheets of plywood wrapped and secured onto a folding barrow. They obviously saw me as an easy target, totally encumbered and unable to fight back. Two members barged me to the ground stunning me. One pinned me down and the other frisked me, taking my wallet and my laptop. It was over in seconds and by the time I had come to senses they had disappeared into the crowds.
When I reported the matter to the port police I was told it was Rumanian street gang and as they only targeted visitors who could recover their loss from their travel insurance, they were left alone.
Moral of the story, always keep one arm free to defend yourself and use a concealed money belt. It cost me € 4500 to learn this.
