Agadir Marina, Morocco

Anyone any experience of leaving their boat long-term in Agadir Marina (6 months). Is it a decent Marina, without too much surge and safe and secure?

Only pit stopped a few times but looked ok to me.

Good reports from my cousin who has a place there BUT not a boat and he is not a sailor so take it with a pinch of salt (that being said, I do intend going there myself in the future)

Wouldn't recommend it, below is an extract from log after taking shelter in Agadir on 26th Jan 2011

"Agadir lies facing south which was perfect to collect velocity – within 12 hours good surge coming round the seawall.
Carnage in the small 30-40 boat floating marina. Pontoons broke away. 40 foot motor launch sunk - 4 boats down from us. Not funny but the eventual bucket bailing before the inevitable was entertaining!!
Storm is set to carry on through rest of today going down around sunset."

That sounds like the old small marina by the yacht club. The new and much larger marina is rather different,

Stayed in the old marina 2004 - broken pontoons and a fair bit of surge there as well.
