When I made the unannounced purchase of Akamas in May, there were glares from SWMBO across the room and 'more than one' frosty evening at the dinner table.

Then came the summer and a few reluctant days with friends on 'his boat'.

Then the odd suggestion that 'Kerry & Ian might like to go out at the weekend' (not SWMBO of course:rolleyes:).

Then conversations on-board with friends when I heard the odd ' When we're on the river...'

Next came a couple of suggestions that we should book friends in advance so 'they'd be sure to be free'.

This morning I almost choked on my bacon butty.

I couldnt get a crew together today, plus we've a houseful for dinner this evening, but clearly we're in for a beautiful weekend. I thought I was hearing things:-

'Shall I make some of that roasted vegetable soup? We could take it with some crusty bread and cheese up towards Goring tomorrow? Could we take the dogs too?'

All it took was a little patience.....I knew she couldnt resist in the end :D

Life is good:D:D

Good to hear!

I spent the first 25 years of our marriage firmly landlocked due to my wife's uncontrollable seasickness. On one particularly extreme occasion, following a crossing on a Channel car ferry in really quite moderate seas, she threatened to divorce me if I simply allowed her to get on another boat, far less suggest it.

Then she decided to take a windsurfing course, which completely cured her of seasickness. We are now between yachts, having sold out little Ranger 265 and waiting for the delivery of our new Jeanneau (hopefully next week). We decided to hire a dinghy this morning for a couple of hours sailing and she found herself saying that she had "missed the motion of the boat" for the last month!
