Historic boat, 26 ton , 65 foot long, 13.44 foot beam, could this be delivered by sea? Better way to go? Or land lorry and cranes ? transport price? I'm New to this. Yarmouth to Newquay

"any help advise would be great"

Thanks

We need more information; but on the face of it, road delivery would be very expensive; you're into the "abnormal load" category. There's no way she could be delivered by road on a DIY basis; it would have to be done by a road haulage company, and there are issues about loading/unloading; do where she is and where she's going both have cranes/hoists capable of lifting her safely? Presuming she's seaworthy and fully equipped, delivery by sea would be both kinder to the vessel and probably cheaper. But there are so many imponderables! First and most important, is she seaworthy? Is she a sailing vessel or a motor boat? If a sailing boat, does she have a working and reliable engine? Does she have appropriate safety gear?

No doubt someone here has done a similar project, but please post photos and a fuller description of the boat to enable people to comment more specifically.

Can Newquay harbour accommodate a 65 foot boat?
You really need to give more information about the vessel, its condition, and the purpose of the move. Absent that, no one can say anything useful

Hi, thanks for your reply,
Regards to Newquay Harbour I'm not sure? I'm awaiting a response from the harbour. I've made another inquiry with another area where this could be moored, but awaiting a response.
I will list more information about the boat once I get more information regarding it, plus I was hesitant to put up too much information as I've not brought it, but want to. But 65 foot boats not that easy to move, hence why I'm here looking.

Newquay is a drying harbour with summer only moorings for boats up to 6.7m (22' approx) only so not suitable. Is the boat in Yarmouth (Norfolk) or Yarmouth IOW? it may be possible to move by road so suggest you contact specialist companies - plenty around, just google boat and yacht transport uk. Sea delivery is probably more sensible if the boat is sufficiently seaworthy to undertake a long coasting passage.
