So, I've booked to do Advanced powerboat next week. Three of us are going to do it over two days.
Not really sure what to expect. I'm assuming it'll be pretty practical?
Anything I should be swotting up on just now?

What ever you do read Col Regs must be high on the list.

Nav and theory to YM standard, night nav without chart plotter, find an unlit mark, demonstrate you can handle a boat etc. Did mine earlier this year, expect to be well tested, but very rewarding. They don't give these out as sweets.....

I did my instructor ticket for this recently and it was a good test of knowledge, you need to be happy with boat handling, nav night and day, colregs, boat and engines bit and safety. and wrap up warm.
