The broker works for the seller. If the seller is happy with him then it doesn't matter two hoots what potential buyers think.
I remember trying to sell a house once and the estate agent kept bugging me with stupid offers and sob stories from a woman who "loved the house" but couldn't afford it. Eventually I told the agent to tell her to **** off because it was obvious she just wouldn't take a polite "no" for an answer! Maybe this broker has had the same instruction.
