Abusive Broker Jeroen Korthuis Astra Mare Yachtbrokers

In my case the broker suggested that I consider a boat which I was otherwise not going to consider at all because it was outside my budget.
They encouraged me to have a good look, I did, I liked it and told them it was very nice but still way outside my budget.
They suggested that I make an offer which I would feel that I could afford. I did, and apologized for it being way off the asking price. Any way after a few days of delay it was accepted. I am very happy. I think the owner was relieved although may be not over the moon as he had already got his new boat.

You earlier said your offer was within 10% of the asking price, which is not an unrealistic offer and I am surprised any broker responded in the way you described. The vendor has now dropped the price to within a few thousand of your offer, so am assuming boat was on sale for £200,000 plus.
Seems perfectly legitimate to put in a low offer, I did, some were rejected, one was accepted. But never had any hassle with those offers that were not just a polite no, which is the right of the seller/broker to do.

Hell no. I am just a poor yachty. Try 40k Eur And that is outside our budget. We sail more than we work.

Trop cher:
If i stopped replying you would have a lot less information pertinent to the issue. You would be ill informed. I know that is quite normal on forums but I prefer clarity.
I wont post the boat or the link as I dont want someone snapping up the boat under me. I think it highly possible. Not all forum people have ethics.

:D

103 posts about a broker with a possibly poor attitude ( though I agree with those who suspect the OP may be a bit thin skinned ).

Just goes to show what they say about 'making a good impression' !

Dear all,

I know Jeroen personally and he must have had a bad day.
Normally he is always very correct and precise.
Very well possible that the bid was so ridiculous, that he reacted this way.
In some cases where the price is already very low, some of our yachters place an bid that raises neck hairs.
So don't make this a vendetta against Jeroen or any other well doing Dutch yacht broker. (there are plenty good ones)
Anyway I would inform the person about this tread, so he can react on this. This wasn't done, am I wright?

To the administrator I would like to ask to remove this thread. It is harming the person in question, whilst there is no real reason for it!
