The Boat Show Channel always gives weight and fuel consumption, brands like Absolute are usually at the cutting edge of vacuum infusion and exotic materials so hi end boats are about 20% lighter. Of course IPS engines are smaller than their designation, so must add to the lightness and fuel efficiency.
Not so sure about that. I managed to find this test of the Navetta 64 which suggests that its weight is 41.7t which is heavier than the Manhattan 68 and Squadron 68. In fact its heavier than my Ferretti 630 which is a bit of a fat bastard at just under 40t. So if its full of exotic lightweight materials, I dont know where they are
The video suggests that the fuel consumption at cruising speed is constant at around 12l/nm which is equivalent to 0.38 galls per nm which is very similar to my boat. Not surprising considering their similar weights but there doesnt seem to be any consumption advantage from the IPS drives at all. So with a 3600L tank and 10% safety that gives a range of 270nm. Not awful but not great either
Dont get me wrong. I love the styling and interior space of these Navetta boats (and the Azimut Magellanos too) and I'd happily go fair weather cruising in the Med in any of them but I just dont see that their cruising capabilities are any better than a run of the mill planing boat from other builders
