Absolutely the most gorgeous boat in the world

Bouba, I'm with you mate. Maybe not the most beautiful but it's certainly a whole lot better than mine. Yes please, you paying?

Taste is a funny thing mate. Champagne and beer salary springs to mind. 99.9% of the members here would trade up in a straight swap if they could afford to keep it. Tells you everything you need to know :p

We do, in our flock, have a golden few who can afford it, but I want all opinions. Personally, Absolute are my favorite brand of boat (assuming, correctly, that I’m not in the market for a Nordhavn etc) and at any boat show they are the nicest people.

I dont know about gorgeous but certainly brave compared to the me too yawn styles produced by many other builders. If it had shaftdrive it would be a contender but IPS in a 60 ft boat intended for serious cruising is a big downer IMHO. On the other hand maybe it isnt intended for serious cruising because with a fuel capacity of only 2800L it ain't going very far from its home marina. The fuel capacity in a boat always betrays the designers true intentions for its use whatever the advertising blurb says

IMHO you should be wetting your pants about the new Beneteau 62 Grand Trawler which I would have thought would be far more up your rue

Well I like trawlers to be sure, but when you step from a Beneteau Swift Trawler to an Absolute Navetta, the difference is startling. That Italian style and luxury makes you feel right at home. Of course, it’s an unfair comparison, as the price will tell you. But, I also like that utilitarian look. The great thing about fantasy shopping is you don’t have to make a choice. Perhaps the tank size reflects the economy of the pods?‍♂️ But it will get increasingly hard to buy a boat if you don’t like pods.

I’m with you. I really like the Absolute. Probably best suited to the Med or other warmer climates though in my opinion. Pods are presumably intended to make handling easier and the whole boat looks designed for fun and relaxation. Which is what I thought boating was supposed to be all about??

good flybridge and large seating area at the stern, both things I would look for in the med. Cabin arrangement different to the norm. Quite like the style but then again I tend to prefer modern boat styling to older. Pods wouldnt bother me and as they are IPS 950 then I guess the 2800 litre tanks are large enough for at least a 250 mile range - which seems to be the norm. Fuel tanks are same size as Pearl 62 but for that boat I would specify IPS 1200.

I think that Bouba is being Absolute(ly) serious here for a change. :D

I would be a bit worried about those huge windows in the hull topsides. and what would happen to them if they came into accidental heavy(ish) contact with a part of a jetty or a dock. I have seen much smaller windows in the hulls of similar size mobos with cracks in them from 'something' that hit them.

And I had better not mention those forward facing IPS drives...... :)

Bouba, how much would she cost you if you bought one?
@ShaneAtSea you are also an Absolute fan, what is your opinion?

I only really like the Absolute Navetta range.

If i was in the market for a 60ft boat with a plaining hull then there are a lot more attractive options out there.

It would probably be a tussle between the Pearl 62 or the Galeon 640 Fly

It deffo looks like a marina queen and for some, that’s fine. It would make a fab floating apartment. A few years ago, we holidayed in Italy very close to San Vincenzo. They have a nice marina there with a few ‘super yachts’ at one end. I got talking to one of the crew and she said they hardly ever move from the marina. The owners wife gets seasick, but loves being on the boat. So, it sits there and acts as a floating holiday home.

What about powered cats? Easily driven, unrivaled smooth ride and so much space?
I had an outboard powered one and it glided over the wavetops rather than slammed you into each one..

Parking a cat in the busy parts of the Med is a real problem
