We had some of my work mates on board this weekend, and D3B as Bosun, with different crews on both days. As it was glorious, we took the tide and beam reached up to the top of the Crouch to the Battlesbridge approaches, and turned round in time to see a beautiful new wooden keelboat being launched with some ceremony at midday on Saturday which was very nioce. It must have taken ages to build, and everyone was going about the task very gingerly.
We sailed back up to Fambridge and had lunch at the Ferry Boat, then sailed back on the tide to Burnham Yacht Harbour to begin the Jeanneau Owners weekend, organised by Clarke and Carter.
Having tied up and issued drinkies and nibbles to the crew, I had the RNLI Sea Check, which is the first time for Full Circle. We decided to go for the Extended Passage making check, and only got a cross on not having HF/Satcom. The examiner said it was the best prepared boat he had surveyed. Chuffed, a little bit.
Took 2 possible orders for my replacement Jeanneau tables as people came in for a peek.
Up to the Crouch YC for Pimms and dinner, we waved bye bye to crew number 1, and everyone had a great time. The weather, of course, had a great deal to do with this.
Dinner with the new caterers in CYC was excellent.
Back to the boat for a late snifter then bed, and awoke to a bit of wind noise, as it had piped up in the night to a f4-f5.
We were joined by more workmates, and the splendid Master_Under_Dog, more colloquially known as Michael, as my crack racing crew for the Jeanneau fun race. We were overestimated as usual on the handicap, and were overpressed down the first beat. Much better when we got the reef in.
So, back to BYH for a pint and prize giving, nothing formal, very pleasant indeed.
So, the wind dropped, came round on the nose, so we motoroed back to Bridgemarsh, and had a lovely late lunch on the way.
Really wonderful weekend.

We have a couple of rather distant photos of FC on Sunday. Gordon reckons they aren't good enough to put on yourboatpix (can't think why, they are a lot better than many!). We'll send them to you sometime. You were going great guns when we saw you!

Any photos greatly appreciated......
We were doing 7.4kts maximum, and regularly over 7kts. Even managing 6.3kts uphill at 30 degrees apparent.
Thats STW not SOG.:D

Sorry our paths did not cross! We were on E pontoon in BYH, I kepy an eye out for FC-the-boat but didn't spot you.
Fantastic weekend.
Mind you the trip back to the Swale yesterday was 'interesting'. A bit wet at times!

Saw Cornsilk on E, but no one home. We were on E53. Really Dick, we must do better than that!
