A phone call**********

Master_under_Dog;2523535I hope the police catch these low-lifes. They must have left DNA all over your boat along with their footprints. [/QUOTE said:
I feel you're optimistic of what the police will be able to do. Record a statistic perhaps, but any result is probably going to be on information received.
Over the years, and from various homes, I've had a caravan stolen (sawed the iron gates off), house ransacked (bludgeoned the front door) and a car on my drive damaged by attempted theft. No investigations, no result, just insurance claims and hiked premiums.

My commiserations go to the OP ; it's very disturbing to have your personal 'space' invaded like this.

I am now allowed to start sorting the mess out, the police have removed the "crime scene" status ! I wil be going down tomorrow to begin the repairs and assess the costs.
I have decided to move the boat to a marina, which is such a shame as I love the peace and beauty of my Pin Mill mooring. It is the distance from the hard at Pin Mill that made it attractive to me and the thieves.
I have been surprised to find berths available at both Woolverstone and Shotley, in the past once the season has got underway they were full.
So I may see one or two of the Shotley ECF crowd there.:)

You'll find Shotley peaceful, although the view isn't a patch on Pin Mill. I'm sure you won't miss the cargo ships going by in the night. Be sure to give us a look when you get to Shotley, J12. Kettle never gets cold :)

Nah, we're middle class on E. Mr.Morgana however, on C pontoon, well ....... really posh there :D:D:D:D

Indeed, indeed, do y ou think he'll be moving up a pontoon or two when he gets those new sails ?

We are on E23 kettles on some of the time but theres allways a cold beer in the fridge:D

Didn't realise so many on here where in Shotley.

Commiserations, it's never good to hear that a boat has been raped by low life slime. On a more positive note at least you had Police involved and not PCSO's!

As there seems to lots of shotleyites here, what are their visitor moorings like? We are hoping to be round there over summer and it looks like an easy place to get into.

The deed is done, I called into the Shotley marina office and paid my dues so Te Arawa will be berthed in a marina in the near future.
I had a productive day today sorting out the mess, should be being dropped back in tomorrow and providing I got the engine panel rewire correct I might have the use of an engine tomorrow. If that's the case I will point her towards the horizon for a while and forget about scumbags.

Welcome to Shotley Spottydog.

Its a bit sad, the circumstances of your move, but, on the positive side, Shotley is a great marina... the staff are truly superb, the facilities good, and the atmosphere very pleasant...

As inferred above, we're on C15.... kettle always warm and beer always cold...

Neil I smiled after reading your post regarding the ease of getting in and out of the berths .
I have just been through one of those, I'd rather forget and I hope no one was watching, incidents getting into my new berth ( M11)
The numbering on the end of the pontoon suggested I had entered L aisle so I had the problem of trying to reverse out of the aisle with a boat insisting on weathercocking and that has a deserved reputation of being an absolute b*****d to reverse ( albin vega ). I then wentt down the next aisle which is the very end one and then had to turn the boat through 180 degs.I went back to the original aisle and realised the markings on the end of the pontoons differ to the the markings on the inner end of the pontoons. I shoehorned the boat in next to a mobo and remembered I had given Miriam the wrong beam measurement ( 2.15m instead of 2.5m ) All very traumatic but paintwork intact.
I hope to take up the various offers of drinks etc over the coming weeks.
