Does anyone have any pictures of the London Boatshow , October 1983, particularly the Fairline stand.

I believe that the boat I now own was on show, Fairline plc think she was but haven't any pictures.

Any help is appreciated.

Try mby editorial mebbe? But even a picture wdn't really prove it one way or t'other would it, unless by some miracle it was named and stickered at boat show time? Of course, if you tidy out under the seats and find some little cards that say "Don't flippin sit down on these seats!" or perhaps some of those stupid plastic goloshes, then that wd be pretty conclusive evidence ;-)

As it happens I was poking about on her and found a bit of paper in the fuse board saying Holiday 593, I wrote to Fairline who confirmed she was number 593, the May issue of MBM has a story about a Holiday being refitted, which I'm having to do as it happens, but it gives a write up of the Holiday's history and states that 594 were made. Fairline have said that it's highly likely she was there but they can't prove it. Hence the call for anyone with a comprehensive photo album ;-)

Re: explain yourself, Holmes!

Hmm. Encouraging- nearly. But surely number 1 or thereabouts would be at the boat show? Not number 593 out of a (phew nearly finished this production run) 594? It would have been an awful boat show if either they sold (almost) zero boats, there being just one more in the run. Or perhaps erm they were a rather horrid sales team and told everyone to clear off cos this was the almost the last one har har.

Or from your post, are you imagining that they have a soviet-style production plan which decides how many they'll make and then counts down to zero. Surely not? That wd be like Romans carving "700BC" into their early stauary and bldgs.

Or...does the number perhaps relate to the length of the boat? And they called it a 593 because that's about how many centimetres long it is? And then they just called it a Holiday?

I'm baffled, Holmes, utterly and totally baffled.

Re: explain yourself, Holmes!

I follow your logic and anyway size isn't everything, it's what you do it that counts ! :-o So MBM have their facts wrong then "Oooh Sir I wouldn't hear of it "

The plot thickens Watson.
