A little trick to stop pesky little deck leaks from the Historic Vessel Vega

About a year ago someone posted about a putty like material used by the Aussie coastguards to stop leaks. It would be great for leaks in old wooden boats.
Does anyone remember what it was and how to get some?

Superglue very useful in the First Aid Kit. Works a treat for those little cuts that plasters wont stick to
A&E nurses use a variation on the theme for all sorts of cuts that they would once have stitched. When it was used on me a few years ago, I joked that if I'd known she was going to do that I'd have saved the wait & superglued it at home.

She said it would be a bad idea 'cos superglue is toxic enough to risk real damage.

I permanently fixed a leak around a car boot seal with CTCCC but, as others have said, it has to be applied to dry surfaces.

I suspect it is just PVA glue - does our resident chemist know if that's so?
