The last postings about thieving scrotes on boats was over a month ago now-can it be taken as a good sign that theft activity is not escalating at the moment?

i have found out that a group of eastern europeans was arresed stealing outboards to go abroard in containers, but some more outboards was stolen a couple of weeks ago,a dealer near me fitted trackers on some outboards that had been stolen think that was how the engines was traced

i assume they will serve their sentence & then be deported

I'm afraid it's more likely people aren't using this forum; on Scuttlebutt someone mentions having a recently refurbished Yamaha 4hp 2 stroke long shaft stolen from his boat in Portsmouth harbour very recently.

I also heard this about Eastern Europeans at a boat meeting, someone asked how much should be spent on these criminals? I had to reply about .70p ............ worth of lead.
Much cheaper for everyone in the long run.

+ 1 for the lead....

I have saved up for EVERYTHING I own... so those thieving little Fu**ers should pay for goods in one way or another..... well, I say this, how about 2 bits of lead.... one for each knee....:D:D:D:D

And on Bristol Channel forum boat broken into and Taylors heater nicked.

Keep an eye on the free ad websites and ebay then. Isn't that where a lot of goods turn up? They cost around £1200 new, so I guess there would be a ready market for a cheap 'second hand'. Makes you wonder if you should ever leave your boat unattended... So much for freedom
