Aquafighter has been created to remove water from your diesel tank. It is a pouch that drops down the fuel filleron a lanyard and absorbs any water in the diesel. It should last for a year before needing replacement. Aquafighter has been developed in Norway and there is a very detailed web site about it. Currently it is available from Eurotank and Centre Tank Services in the UK. The smallest version which should suit almost all yachts costs £42.70 + VAT and postage.

I read about this product here and thought it sounded like a good solution to prevent the diesel bug rather than treat the bug.

Might find the first few pouches get soaked up in weeks rather than months and might still need to get rid of the present infestation.

Well it looks like a good product to me. The thing is how do you know when it needs to be replaced, do you have to replace it annually even if you didn’t get water in the tanks? If you have more water in the tank than the capacity of the aquafighter how will you know?

I think that it could be useful for an installation that was large enough to justify the cost, and which was already in good condition with minimal damp entry. It wouldn't help me as my filler has a splash guard and you can't get into the tank from the filler.

I bought a similar, but British, product about 20 years ago, though it was nothing like that sort of price, it was reusable, you could take it out and dry it.
