40th birthday prezzie update

Had a fantastic time in "Nice" took everyones suggestions onboard. Went to "Antibes" on Teusday was dumbstruck by the boats there, and the town itself was lovely. Went to "Monte Carlo" by boat trip on Wednesday ditto the boat scene and the whole deal really. Oh and of course "Nice" itself I really enjoyed, great beach, great food (not that expensive either) great atmosphere allround, no way could you walk in English town centres at midnight without any feeling of intimidation, there were no larger louts or unsavoury characters (apart from the odd french tramp but they were no problem either). The other thing worth mentioning is the transport system which is very efficient, come to think of it there was nothing I did'nt like including French women "ooh la la"

That's coz at midnight all the thugs are still in the bars - try wandering round Cours Saleya in Nice around 3am on a Saturday if you want some pagga! We used to gig there - felt safer in Coventry at kicking out time and never in England have I got embroiled in a race riot as the local arab population attack the national front office in the Rue Trachel where our apartment was!!!!!!

PS - still like the place, but it's easy to get rose-tinted glasses in the SoF if you are always back in by midnight! /forums/images/icons/wink.gif
