The Lizard lifeboat was lucky, the outer hull was found to be breached when they hauled out, they hadn't hit anything.
Next morning I was standing near the beach talking to someone, I saw behind him a small boy come out of a holiday cottage and run down the beach, in the lull between two sets of huge waves, it had been 12 feet deep a few moments before. I had my small daughter in my arms, I pointed and yelled, off went my friend and got the boy back, he wouldn't have stood a chance.
About 15 years later on the same date the same boy was on holiday in the same cottage with his teenage friends, they decided to go on a night time trip in a small inflatable, so he nearly lost his life again, lifeboat found them.
