Unfortunately I'm going to have to pull out, at some point during lifting/ being sat on the keel she's developed a stress crack behind one of the bulkheads. It's not letting in much water but I don't want to risk the crack propagating mid channel. :(

Edit:

Checked the bilges last night and water has stopped coming in. Hurrah! I'm going for a sail this weekend to see if it stays dry, but currently looks like I'm just weather dependent again! :)

Hopefully I will have Thursday to Monday off work. I'm on parade for Sue's friends birthday on Wednesday night so we will hopefully cross some time on Thursday or Friday. Return timing will depend on weather and hangovers.
 
looks like I will make it but have the week off before, so will leave Wicormarine today down Solent and maybe cross Tuesday perhaps Alderney on the way and get to Cherbourg by thurs when my outbound crew needs to get home on the ferry

BUT

Mrs Chubby still not well with a back problem, can`t drive and not very mobile, also youngest who lives at home is off to the canaries with friends.

So if I come it will depend on friends helping Mrs Chubby and also good weather: I know all the sayings about not risking yourself at sea to get home by a set time but can`t afford to get storm bound! Hope the tail end of hurricane Gaston comes and goes by then!

Just done back of fag packet passage plan, current proposal is to to depart Hamble Thursday evening and overnight either Yarmouth or Lymington, then early start to get to the Needles gate and arrive at Cherbourg in daylight. Anyone else lurking around there on Thursday night?

Yes, leaving Portsmouth Thursday morning and expect to overnight somewhere like Yarmouth or even on the hook behind Hurst castle. A very early one is planned for Friday AM as we're only small. If you see us at Yarmouth in Isabella come along and say Hi (but not after 9pm...).

Of course, it's all dependent on the weather. If it's a force 3-4 we leave immediately, just like in the Art of Coarse Cruising... :-)

We are leaving Portland Thursday maybe take in Alderney sail to Cherbourg Saturday. If we go straight to Cherbourg we will look out for you on your arrival Friday evening.
