2009 plans

I should have a better chance of remembering and I can't.
Better discuss this when you are next down.
I'm pretty sure I didn't borrow anything though.
Then again.... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Peter, when you get to the Jester, you might see our first boat. She's entered at the moment, name of Clochard.

I hope she doesn't leak as much as she used to to windward!

She looks smaller than the 26 feet she is listed as.

Entered by Mark Barratt - Clochard, Cutter-rigged clinker 26ft.

I am a light weight and ONLY doing the Azores in 2012 not the Atlantic in 2010.

Thought it was one way of getting some sunshine and warm sailing. I have had two offers for crew to help me bring the boat back from the Azores but have to admit that last weekend I was looking at continuing on to the Canaries. Only another 900 miles or so I think. Not mentioned that bit to SWMBO! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Clochard - our Clochard, was twenty five and a half feet and as you can see cutter and clinker. All a bit of a coincidence so it all matches. Not sure I'd want to take a centreboarder across the Atlantic.

Have you thought about Madeira while you're out there?

Im planning a non-stop to Edinburgh then a slow return trip hopefully over a couple of weeks. Oh and Ostend too.

Thankx
i cant find anything about the festival on the web.
i would be very surprised if it isn't our B.H w/e as thats when is always been held.
Happy & Hopefully Prosperous New Year to all East Coasters /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

OSTEND - The maritime event Ostend Anchor for the past four days lured many visitors. The organizers were aware that Sunday from their estimates and those of police and railways show that between 230,000 and 250,000 people visited the event.

"There were 163 ships this year who have taken part," says organizer Hubert Rubbens. "We were very pleased with the arrival of the Sedov and saw two substantive highlights. First there was the arrival of the Euronav of Dixie Dansercoer, perfectly suited to our theme 'Belgians in Antarctica, and there was the arrival of the Askoy II, the ship of Jacques Brel in New Zealand was vetted. "

Anchor ostend for this year went smoothly. The edition of 2009, immediately an important year for the tenth edition because the organizers want to extract a list of highlights of the past years. The 2009 event will be organized from May 29 to June 1 in the extended weekend of Whitsun
