2 steering wheels

One is for the Captain so he has operational control of the vessel, but the other is for the Admiral who has stategic control over the broader policies of the vessel and may require changes of direction in a more esoteric sense such that the whole operation can punch above its weight and be more effective globally.

Some time ago I saw a Dutch “ Sailing “ yacht with two wheels and three roller reefing head sails. At the back they had a construction with so much antennas, windgens and other necessities that the thing looked like an industrial park.
Sailing that yacht upwind must be challenging.
The guys on the AC 72s duck inside the hull if possible to minimise windage, they have two wheels as well. O, and they go faster then most mobo´s.

I once had a Westerly Konsort Duo with wheel and tiller steering.

You could switch to tiller by means of a lever at the tiller station.

One day I had my mate steering from the wheel inside. Out of his sight I switched to tiller. I gently steered to port, he compensated by turning to starboard. I moved her even more to port, I then flung the helm hard to starboard, he frantically swung the wheel the other way..........

This went on for about ten minutes, zig zagging all over Conway Bay before I finally collapsed in laughter.
