Some one has passed. I know the widow and daughter and she has asked me to help. They own a 1982 Princess 412. Twin VP engines, I have offered to help get it ready for sale.
Question, how much, ball park figure, is it worth?
Any help appreciated.

Thanks - not many pics, but does look like she needs a bit of TLC. My guess (and I'm certainly no expert) would be £40K- £55k depending state of engines and how up to date and comprehensive the rest of the equipment is. Market seems hard to judge at the moment as some mad prices are being paid... a broker will give you better advice than me

Thanks for that. She will probably go for £38k

Where is she, I take it she is on a river somewhere .
North Wales marina, am going there this morning to check her out for the owner/friend.

Nice old girl. I am sure you would see 40k plus.
Had a look today. The owner had taken the manky dash apart before he passed. So sad, plans and dreams disappear. He has made a new alloy panel, but not fitted it, everything works, I had hoped to be able to put it all together for his wife, but it needs some ply backing making and I am useless with wood.
She is being very brave but it needs to go. A bargain for someone at a lot less than £40k. To take it from Pwllheli, it would go as is with care or a modicum of work.
Anyone interested, send me a pm.

That's a very nice boat with the extended flybridge. It will sell in the coming season, unless there is need, don't rush just yet.

Hi. What engines does she have.
personally I think these particular vintage of princess boats, are just ridiculous things. Their build quality and sea keeping ability are just about or possibly unrivalled, pound for pound, these days.
prior to the huge price hike in recent years…boats like this in exceptional or very good order, would be keen for around 50-55k at that age, subjectivity perhaps.
At that price even, personally I think she would be a bargain…being a little princess bias.
but in most recent times…such a boat could and may sell for god knows what. The restraint on such a thing is most commonly around potential buyers comparing such a boat to silly modern things in the same price bracket. Unfortunately some people prefer modern plastic window…paper mache hull toy boats, rather than serious, but perhaps dated styled machines like this. Long story short…she is worth plenty to an audience with the ability to recognise a serious boat…but much less to an audience who can’t.
