I've got a new boat. nice 12v switch panels. nice square red block to the left of the switch saying "fuze".

stupid question - how do I get the fuze out to check to see if blown and or to get some spares? I'm sure I must be an idiot!!

anyway I have attached a pic I have grabbed from the net as mine looks like this:

You need to press in the side of the rectangular button labelled "fuse". Use the tip of a small screw driver if your nails are not up to the job. The thing then pops out enabling you to check/change the fuse. It's simply a spring loaded cartridge with a little detent that holds it in place.

If the fuse is blown or missing, the rocker switches won't light when set to on. Or at least, that's how mine have always worked.

So to check if all OK, just set the rocker switch to on. But yes, get them out so you know which spares to get.

ahh

all clear now - thanks guys. will try at the weekend.

all lights are fine :) so the steaming light failing to work is probably further up the line (or mast) but I thought I'd check the easy end (ie fuzes) first before working along and eventually up

cheers

I have NEVER had a steaming light that works, or if it does, not for long! The buggers!
