I've seen a couple of these 12v Pressure Washers advertised in various shops...... anyone got one?? Are they any good or am I better off sticking with a normal 240v one??

Regards Paul.

My Karcher pressure washer which runs on mains power is rated at something like 1500W and generates approx 130 bar. For a 12V pressure washer to match that performance it will eat your batteries. My thoughts are that they just can't be up to the job. If they are that powerful then they would need cabling sizing similar to an anchor windlass.

The only reason to have a 12V unit would be if there is no mains available or if you can't use a RCD trip device. The choice is mains every time I would have thought.

Not seen them, do you have a link?

Standard domestic proessure washers are about 1kw upwards, at 12v thats over 80amps (which is ALOT), so unless they have some magic way of getting alot of pressure from very little energy then I would doubt their usefullnes.

I run my Karcher on a suitcase generator when away from shorepower, works fine.

Google should reveal all. They are branded Mobi, Nauticalia are distributing them I believe.

Not exactly a "pressure" washer at 45-130 psi, our mains water pressure in Barcelona is 50 psi. I use a pressure reducer for the hose direct connection.
