I think the England second team would beat the first team of any country other than the Wallabies and the All Blacks. However in the context of today's game, had Woodward needed to ring the changes to bring in new options what would he have done?

In substituting Dawson and Catt he seemed to take off two of the most influential players on the pitch - would he have done the same if there had been a chance of the French winning?

What a tremendous shame

None of you took me on- the fiver stays stuck to my pocket.
I am of course happy to stick a fiver on England winning next weekend but I'm not sure who Brian would pay - just think of it, a fiver - half the price of a ticket out there in the 60's.

Just goes to show you can never trust a Scot when money is concerned. Had France won you can be he would have been claiming that we had all taken him up on it.

Re: What a tremendous shame

But of course laddie, absolutely correct. Now do I hear anyone taking a fiver on Australia to win?

Deeply embarassed by your skinflint behaviour, so have put a fiver in the RNLI box on your behalf. I will put another fiver in if Australia win.

Re: piling in: bet # 1

Err, Yes I think thats what I mean....so who do I pay what to if anyone else wins, err, or don't I?- Or erm, does this mean that the RNLI gives me one of my fivers back from the other reckless donations that being a falorumite has cost me over the past couple of years?

Well it looks like the RNLI will be able to build and run another 1,000 lifeboats and staff them full time thanks to you're bet!

Re: What a tremendous shame

Let me see if I've got this right:

If the ozies win you put £5 in the RNLI box on your own behalf.

If England win you put £5 in the RNLI box on claymore's behalf.

No wonder Claymore is so generous with his bets - he's got no intention of paying out whatever happens

You're not as dim as you sometimes make out!! I'm glad you pointed that one out as I'd rather lost the plot. Anyway - all's well that ends well, can I expect your fiver in the post?

Re: What a tremendous shame

I guess we just have to be thankful that the proceeds of Claymore's Bets are going to a good cause.. He could have just taken all the proceeds himself and bought up all the Caulis in the UK!
