£5 says its Australia France next weekend.
Those who agree meet at LBS and stick a quid each into the RNLI stand - if we win.
Those who lose stick a fiver into their local RNLI

Allez France

Me, I'm supporting France - some of their wine is nearly as good as the real, Italian stuff. Aussie wine is OK, but lacks the character for serious drinking.

The English don't even figure in this. Despite being shown how to do it by the Romans, they still can't produce anything fit for washing windows, let alone drinking.

No way - with a full squad including Mike Catt and Richard Hill in the starting line-up the French won't have a chance.

Come on England!

Not to mention Robinson on the wing rather than at full back!

Although England gave us a few bad moments in the first half last Sunday, as soon as I heard that they had brought Catt on I knew it was all over for the Welsh.

Yes, it's good to see him back on the wing and the Hill/Dallaglio combination will put the power back into the midfield where England have looked vulnerable.

Looking forward to the game.

Re:Sheer desperation!

The only reason they brought Catt on...was they were losing!

Watched the match on another forumites boat...him English, me Welsh, and it was just like the 70-'s. The referee was quite obviously blind as a bat. Other than that, brilliant game.

Re:Sheer desperation!

Just the sort of desperation that will win them the World Cup. In no sense of the word was it a brilliant game. Okay the Welsh played above themselves against a very much below par England Side, and were still well beaten.

All in all a good game.

The only thing that worried me was that Clive couldn't really make any substitutions. That team is so obviously the best one he can field that if he wants to make tactical substitutions half way through the second half it is difficult to see how he could without weakening the side.

Hope you've paid up to the RNLI.

England seem to be able to rise to the occasion depending on the strength of the opposition.

I have a feeling that next Saturday they will still be able to do this yet again. They seem to be economical with energy and just do enough to win by a reasonable margin. And the French had the nerve before the match to call us arrogant!

What think the Oz contributors to this forum?

Interesting you should say that - the consensus after the game was how deep our reserve bench was compared to the Aussies! Even Clive acknowledged this with a tribute to the 8 who had not made it to the bench.
