Think of it as the foam you might see or use in a regular car wash. Generically snow foams have good cleaning properties and help lift initial road grime etc before you wash a car properly. They’re also usually PH balanced and should not remove existing wax or sealants. A proper car wash...
I’ve seen some videos from the Dr Nordhavn guy and he seems to be a wealth of knowledge on them. I suspect having someone like him consult on a build would be money well spent!
I’ve watched most of his videos. Overall a nice looking boat but I was very surprised at the issues not being rectified prior to handover. The guy does seem comfortable though.
Hi Dino. This came up on the inland waterways Facebook. My own view is that butyl might be better on the curved ends on the ocean 38. A tape would clearly work well on straight sections. I’d also be nervous over torquing window frame screws - might be a nightmare to replace damaged frames in...
The water softener/filtration setup sounds very clever and will make cleaning a breeze. Do you have outlets for compressed air? Pretty handy for blowing dust off engine surfaces etc. but also for tornado/vortex hoover attachments.
are you 100% sure this is black gel coat and not painted? The white spots are unusual for coloured gelcoat. Also the chalking almost looks like it it’s under clear coat. Are the rest of the decks and console black?
Absolutely gorgeous rib! Stupid Q. Is petrol readily available in marinas nearby or how do you usually fill the rib? I didn’t spot fuel capacity in your post but I assuming 200l+ capacity. Do you have capacity for carrying petrol on the mothership?
Did you manage to get a temperature reading on both glands with an IR gun? It wouldn’t necessarily have to be overheating but on any standard run just to get an idea. Probably worth doing that and seeing if that side is hotter. If it is it might be worth backing the nut off slightly assuming it...
Agree. Thankfully on the boat it’s an infrequent job for me. The photo above was removing some hot filings mess that hit the boat over the winter 2yrs ago with someone cutting steel nearby. It removed everything with minimal effort. Pretty sure it helps with rust stains too on the base of...
