Is Cookham that strange one with what looks like a 'separator' gate halfway?
If it is.......can you just use half the lock or would you have to use the double length still? Wouldn't want to be going through there manually during the peak periods! Best take a bottle or two along...

Sometime back in 2012-13 I recall reading a thread about a narrowboat which had been stolen somewhere on the tidal Thames. The only reason I remember this is because there was a photo posted of the boat which has a very distinctive doorway at the back.

Based on the time between locks in the EA handbook, it's about 8.5hrs. Midweek with no school holidays, there'll be little time lost at locks.
Morning all and long time no see: the last year has been 'somewhat challenging' so I've not been on here.
Next week a friend and I are taking a couple of long days from Reading to Oxford and back. Is anyone aware of any specific problems or hazards which have appeared?
