Another vote for Owatrol CIP... last season cleaned up cast iron keels, Owatrol CIP, antifoul. CIP still looking good after lift out and jet wash. This season the CIP just needs a touch up round the keel bases where we've had the odd conversation with Devon.
Oh I'm sure you are right. But then a vast number of al those and dogs and cats and badgers and etc etc etc are slaughtered on the road by us. Shall we kill motorists?
Thank heavens! And I thought I was the only NOlympic whinger on here. The thread started about the frankly barmy references to everything 2012. It was noticeable that in the previews of medal hopes much was made of track and field, and yes, we're good at cycling, oh and there's swimming...
I shall be chipping off 2012 flakes of old varnish at 12 minutes past eight tonight. Or trying to find 2012 fleas on the cat. Or trying to etch the Olympic rings into some fine furniture out of beer glass stains. Bah humbug.
Lyme Regis to Isles of...
And for that matter, an 'inshore waters' forecast that starts half way round Lyme Bay and ends half way to the Southern Ocean (or might as well be, for all the similarity of the Isles of Scilly to Lyme Bay) is not much blinking use. That's why they keep on saying 'in...
After the meterological fun and games of recent weeks, mooring warp riser is showing signs of chafe. As well as nagging the boatyard to replace the riser, I need to source some super tough tubing I can slide over the warp to take the punishment on the bow roller. Any good sources?
Careful what you attach the halyard to - a rather nice Westerly next to us was in for repair, having fallen over after (according to owner) attaching their halyard to a dinghy rack on shore. Ouch! Probably looked solid enough at the time...
kissing the bottom
Amen to that! Amazing how you get used to noting points of a metre. Thank goodness for accurate sounders - how did the old boys do it with just a lead line?
Thanks for the info and advice, folks. I'll check out ribnet etc.
We're looking for a RIB that can take young family down the Exe estuary on picnic trips but will have to get over the bar and further afield (maybe Dartmouth) sometimes. Not that we're abandoning raggie world, the RIB is so...
Looking at RIBs for the first time, bewildered by the variety. Sailing cruisers, we can talk about but there's a whole new world of jargon out there in RIB world. Everyone (esp those with one to sell) has an opinion. So are there any good sources of reliable info on RIB buying?
Echopilot sends 5 volts to the paddlewheel. This may not be enough to get a response - depends on the make of log I guess. In the case of our Airmar (ex-Navman) paddlewheel I tried the Echopilot display and it won't register at all. Going to fix an Advansea log/depth by the chart table -...
Remember to check these bags after a week - ones we tried looked great at first but over a month they clearly hadn't really worked and vacuum had been lost.
SWMBO wants the cabin sole boards replaced. Well, she's paying :) Any recommendations for a woodworker in the Bristol area who can cut new ones and refurbish a bulkhead door into the bargain?
