    New Vetus, Kiwiprop. How crucial is it to reach the 3600rpm in gear? Presently get to 3000rpm, and can reduce the pitch a bit more, but concerned she will increase revs without a corresponding increase in knots

    Fuel tank inspection hatch cutting.

    Well you will need to seal them after cutting out. What is the best way to go about.? Diesel ss tank, perspex window. Machine screws tapped into perspex. Have used black rubber and a red sealant-fail ! Thank you

    The Chch website had not been opening for me till now. And are they shut for holidays? Strange that the referenced source is so so expensive. Candian dollars that is. To Rotrax, that is all very well but I want it to run for another 20 yrs

    Merry Xmas all. Specs call for ceramic bearings, but see only SS advertised.. Would these be okay? (this is the masthead Raymarine speed and direction ST60)

    I fear I may need to replace the cable running up the mast. Can I do the. connection at the box at the masthead myself or is it factory done? Be nice if simple spade connectors

    Have the leisurefurl apart,and thinking a little lubricant would be good (aint never again getting lubed) What would be best ? One white nylon bush, and a metal bush

    ZF 12m noise on engaging

    New install of Vetus M3 29 with a zf 12M gearbox. But engage forrd or reverse there is a noise like a crack, or snap from gearbox as it engages gear. Have disconnected shaft and no difference. Any ideas please? Otherwise running beautifully.

    Saildrives and loose bolts

    There are other bolts on boats besides on engines. Are they prone to also loosening? Engine vibrates, but wood to wood doesn't. Or perhaps everytime you use a bolt you should use a springwasher?

    Hose clamp advice

    For exhaust hose 45mm. Should you buy correctly sized clamps or are over sized ones ok? Like they screw up smaller. Am using the expensive bolt ones
