For exhaust hose 45mm. Should you buy correctly sized clamps or are over sized ones ok? Like they screw up smaller. Am using the expensive bolt ones

In the grand scheme of things a couple of hose clamps is not a huge expense.

I'd buy the correct size and make sure they are entirely stainless steel.

Mikalor W5 is entirely 316 grade.

The bolt type can have an annoyingly small operating range.
One that's a size too big, the bolt will bottom out before gripping the hose properly.
One that's the 'right size' can be very hard to get onto the uncompressed hose.

They come into their own on all-metal joins like bike exhausts.

A size too big can be padded out
Temporally using longer bolts to get the clamp on can work.
