We are running a 9.80 as well, had it for 18 months and really like it. Great combination of space, happy to chug at displacement but also can cruise at low 20's if you want. Our's is a 2009 so late one with twin D4's and TBH does everything we want from a boat. Flybridge is great in the sun...

Welcome to the club - another Antares 9.80 here (y) As @dpb said it is manual hydraulic. Reservoir is on the steering wheel but if you ever top up do it form the fly as they are connected so if you take the cap off the one in the cabin fluid will pour out :rolleyes:. Also beware over filling...

I can only echo a few of the comments above especially ST840 who has trod a very similar path. Don't need to go crazy on size but a semi displacement or planning hull that is a bit heavier and more solid might help a lot. We looked at a lot of stuff and ended up with an Antares 9.80, not a lot...

@dpb Good to know there is another 9.80 owner on here. I had toyed with starting a 9.80 thread but didn't think there would be a lot of interest. We bought ours last October after a lot of researching and have to say it is a great boat for us. Have you ever figured out what the "confort"...

Re performance, this table was posted by someone else on here I think but I captured as part of my file of info. Doesn't look like much performance difference at all. I've not seen a Nanni engined 9.80 to compare but access on the Volvo's is pretty good in the 9.80 unlike in the Prestige 32 lol...

Mine had no volume, but it was the second station on the fly. After pulling half the boat apart I managed to find where it joined into the extension lead from the main distribution panel and pulled it out from there. Not easy but only option unless you butt and splice the cable. TC

Only tend to see them occasionally on e-bay now. Is it because yours is broken? Mine had a fault and I sent it into Raymarine themselves in Portsmouth and had it repaired, about £75 if I recall and very good service. Cheers, TC

If its using the Volvo EDC controls like our Antares 9.80 then your presumably pressing the "lock" button to transfer? We discovered a few weeks back I had pressed it twice on the downstairs station which permanently locks it so can't transfer. Had to press again to get it unlocked and could...
