    HUGE Congratulations to Leo

Pretty amazing really. Given his short time in the industry, it is an astonishing achievement. Must have been so emotional for Leo to spend his first night aboard on the water. Steveeasy

Faroe Island Passage Planing and Cruising resources

Just visiting this old thread to see if anyone made it to the Faroes. I’m reluctantly leaving the west coast of Scotland this year to return to lake Solent. I feel I’ve missed so much including this little adventure. So I’m pondering one last Hooley and am interested in any thing or advice on...

What happened to Pete from Tally Ho?

Pete moved on to another project in Port Townsend. Don’t think it’s taken a turn in the wrong direction. volunteers can’t stay forever and contractors do work, enjoy it and move on when thier work is done. I’m sure Pete will have been back. The project needed the hands it’s got involved now to...

What would typically be included with a used sailing yacht?

Just so important to have a detailed inventory. If its not on there its a bonus if it is when you take over the boat. From my own experience a picture is not enough, it must be listed. Winch handles, there should be one left on board. Pretty bad to sell a boat with out one at all. Steveeasy

Coming alongside pontoons with a cross-wind - advice needed please!

Going in to a new marina always is a little challenging. Firstly I find it challenging even identifying the correct pontoon. I like to identify and escape plan if all goes belly up and ill have lines each side. Ill also have a long pole with something very soft on the end. Now for the...

Advice about Saint Alban's head passage tomorrow

Probably cheaper than Falmouth and youd be in a much better place to set off when you get the window you like. Ive been in to Newlyn a few times and the berths from memory are nice. Cafe is just across the road and anything else you might need. Id defiantly choose it over Falmouth. Steveeasy

What would typically be included with a used sailing yacht?

When you buy a boat you must not assume anything is included unless it is specifically included in the inventory. If its not in the inventory then the seller is fully at liberty to keep the items. so before making an offer make sure you see a detailed inventory and compare it to what is still...

    Reluctant crook…

Whatever. Personally if I was faced with a assumed 5 mile trek to get 5 litres of Diesel and then walk back, I know what I’d do. In my defence I find long walks quite challenging. If you really do take the moral route , then simply use this👍. Your get a ride in minuets. I’ve gone on a fuel...

    VHF (Fixed) Reset or Replace?

My gx1700E can be cleared completely from the unit. Send standard Horizon a message and they will help you. I had further issues with mine. The quoted a cheap price to fix it. I sent it to them and they sent it back within days no charge. Steveeasy

    Tally Ho

The makings of a good book one day. What was really going on in Leo’s head when he took it on. Was he dreaming like most of us have done with our first project boat. I wonder how he and others will cope moving from a busy working environment to adjusting to in some ways normality. It won’t be...
