Thanks for all the replies and sorry I haven't participated more, just busy (newly self employed carpenter Etal.......). So reading all the discussion and talking on the pontoon I am going to give installation a go keeping one LA and having the dc 2 dc charger set to a lower charge voltage. I...

Hi Tranona, agree the existing 330Ah is enough really but I have had them for 7 years and have used them carefully but a bit concerned they might start to degrade quickly if I start taking them to lower percentage charge levels. I like being away from marine and can easily be away a week or so...
Yes, I o like the idea, and even though I have a wheel, I have wondered if such a set up connected to he rim of the wheel might work? Definitely something to experiment with?

Hi,
Sailing between Herm and Jersey last weekend it become apparent that an exclusion zone was still in place and because I had been enjoying the sail had wandered quite close to it. I was using a tablet and navionics for tracking my progress. I tried to put a pin in an exact location and then...
They are some interesting pictures, I had been concerned about the thimble moving and chaffing. I think I will still use thimbles (cannot find suitable sized round but did find a closed thimble but at £30 each perhaps not. The double fishermans loop does tighten on to the thimble and I might add...
Sorry for not participating sooner (back to work chaos). Thanks for all the replies and comments. I have a westerly Conway which I run on a very tight budget but as retirement is only two years away I have started beavering on longer term projects. If I am lucky (eye sight holding up) I would...
