New watertank

I'am no expert on this so perhaps Vetus can help you further. If I had to install a new flexible tank, I would have put i in a room with the same dimensions as the tank itself (filled with water) or slightly smaller. I would have placed the water inlet on top of the tank. Our bilge is to...

    New watertank

We got holes in the flexible tanks and the water in the tanks then mixed with bilge water. I do not know the reason for this but it could be that the bilge is narrow so that the preasure will be high withinin the tank when you fill it with water. "Sanna"

    New watertank

Thats true. I have had two different types of flexible wanter tanks (Vetus and Plastimo) in the bilges of about 100 l each. However, it is no fun to drink bilge water. If I should replace the flexible tank with a new one, I would have installed it well above the bilge water. best regards...

    New watertank

We have a 32 feet long keeled grp sailboat (Laurin Koster 32). We need to replace our flexible water tank of about 100 l. We wonder: should we replace it with a stainless tank (very expensive in Norway), a solid plastic tank or should we try to build one overselves. (We have problems finding...

    Anchor and roller

Thank you for the reply. I have 30 m of 8 mm chain linked to 30 m of 14 mm of nylon rope. You say that you splice the rope directly to the chain. I assume that the reason for this is the bowroller or the windlass ? Could you recomend an allround light steel or aluminum anchor ? Some...

    Stowe

We need a new stow in our 32 feet GRP sailboat. Is it a good idea to install a Dickinson Bristol ? Thanks in advance for any reply. "Sanna" (from Oslo)

    220V

We would like to install a 220V system in our grp sailboat. We have a combined unit consisting of a circuit breaker (10A) and a recidual current device (30 MA) with two output connections. We also have a Morbitronic battery charger (25A) which could be plugged into the one of the two...

    Rewireing

Hi Jim ! Thank you for your interesting answer. I think the best solution for us will be to have separate cables connected to separate fuses and switchec in a central panel for all devices except for the nav lights and the internal lightning. We have one green/red nav light in the bow (centre)...

    Rewireing

Thanks for the feed back! Here in Norway some people say that there should be one cable for every comsumer (also lamps) be on the safe side. I understand that you mean that this is not necessary? What I should do then is probably to install separate cabels for the vital consumer and a heavy one...

    Rewireing

I am in the process of rewireing our 12 v system. I wonder how to collect all the minus cables coming from the consumers. Is a bus bar a good alternative? I also need to collect a couple of plus cabels before they enter a swicth in the panel. Is a bus bar a good alternative for this? Thank you...

    Regulator to Nanni engine

Hi again, Thank you for your reply. An Adverc regulator seems to be quite expensive. What do you think about Stirlings regulator ? Regards Sanna
