Adjusted instrument in marina with wind at about 120, took 10 degs off then took boat out for sea trial over last few days and wind instrument now working perfectly with both tacks reading 30degs close hauled.
Thanks for that, was pretty sure it would work but good to have you confirm i am thinking along right lines. ..wife is a bit miserable about me always tweaking things at sea.
Don't think the issue introduced by re-stepping more squarely is as large as 10 degrees. I have already been living...
If it’s urgent I would contact the service centre by phone. From memory they offer a que jumping service for extra cost. My standard service on the mfd took only a week from them receiving it to it being returned repaired.
Yes that is them.. I used them earlier this years when my 11years old C80 MFD went wrong, I was very please. needed a new video board as connector. They gave rest of system a full MOT . total cost including shipment was £230 which I thought was great value. The alternative was scrap the unit...
I had similar issue some 5 or 6 years back. The needle seemed to have a mind of its own. Did the linearization step a few times, got the two beeps to indicate success but problem came back. Solved with new new cpu board and still working You could send the unit off to The Service Centre...

I recently had new standing rigging involving removing mast (probably first time in 15 years). The rigger mentioned at the inspection that the mast was slightly mis-aligned, probably from first stepping, and he would corrected this during re-stepping. Anyway, I have found that my st60 now...

Seemed strange so I was just questioning whether I had corrupted my access in some way.
Cheers
Had similar problem with ST60 couple of years ago. Did the turning calibration thing a few time and it read correctly for a short time each time before suddenly miss reading wind direction, usually just post a tack. End result was england never checked the control head and condemned it. New PCB...
Interesting. My wife and i have sailed with a Seldon in-Mast system for about 11 years and have only once ever had to go out of the cockpit to put the mast winch into ratchet mode to reduce sail. That was when we started to put a reef in and found the continuous reefing line had been left...
Thanks to both of you for feedback. I think I will take the plunge and buy one and be the guinea pig. Agree it looks like a relatively new introduction and has an airdec and inflatable keel.
Anybody have any experience of these? I am currently considering buying a lightweight tender. The Highfield 250 (2.7m) is only 17kg versus my current waveline at 48kg.
