Re: Could we have a Cumbria meet? Alternative meet I will be alongside at Alston sometime over the weekend hopefully sampling the Cumberland (Cumbria, if you want to be PC) sausage that may have been personally passed by Lake Sailer as radioactively neutral. All hopefully without interference...

Alpacas, you surprise me; I didn't think Cumbrian mountain men had such sophisticated tastes. Are you a rigger boot man or inclined to wellies like everybody else? I'm uncertain and find myself drawn to a pair of Dubarrys; the best both worlds don't you think? JJTOP

    Galvanisers

Tisme is right on this, our galvaniser has a minimum charge of £50. The last batch we sent was charged at £0.48/kg on about 500kg but the zinc surcharge and transport costs have gone up recently. As previously pointed out by Talbot you must make sure that they shake the chain to stop it...

    Next book for reading

First post to this thread but Joseph Conrad must be the seaman's writer. Try the [--word removed--] Of The Narcissus. This is an English classic written by a emigré writer. Why should a word be removed? The fully titled book is listed on Amazon. JJTOP
