    Update I changed to a spanish sim card and the cost of going on line is 30 euro cents an hour, 40 euro in advance buys around 130 hours. though I cant get a 3G signal, GPRS is OK

    Self steering wind vanes

    I have a hydrovane that was brill on my last boat, c/cockpit 8 ton cutter, but dont work on pressent junkrig scooner. have removed air vane, and mounted wind generator, and use small tiller pilot to control hydrovane rudder, works ok. am in brighton, east arm <hr width=100% size=1>

    Solid fuel heating

    I've just bought, from a sunday market a solid fuel (coal-anthracite) cast iron heater, for the boat. I now need to obtain and install a chimney, any sugestions? type of tube, cast/stainless/galvanised?. and what about a tray for any hot coal falling from ash pan.
